PRESTWICH – private house
This 1930s detached property lies on a leafy street in North Manchester. The client had a vision of connecting the garden with the main living areas creating tranquil, light spaces that can be enjoyed all year round.
We renovated and designed the whole house, with main focus on the kitchen, dining and snug area to the rear and linking these spaces to the garden. By opening up walls between the kitchen/ dining and the kitchen/ hallway, we created a flow between the spaces and a calming connection to the beautifully landscaped garden both visually and physically. New openings were formed to the back of the house with tall, elegant Crittall doors – in keeping with the style and period of house. Original features such as dado rails and ornate plastering have been maintained and work harmoniously with natural materials such as the oak herringbone floor and Cheshire brick.
